Starting the end of the year, Mestia will have water treatment plant
Large-scale projects of water supply system are actively ongoing in touristic zones. Ekaterine Galdava, Director of United Water Supply Company of Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure and Deputy Director, Irakli Urushadze, familiarized themselves with the process of construction of Mestia water treatment plant on site.
The plant of modern standards will provide continuous qualitative water supply up to 3000 people residing in Mestia and tourists visiting it.
Within the framework of the project, reservoirs and water transmission main were built. For the time being, 90% of works has been completed.
Rendering water infrastructure adequate in resort areas will support the growth of touristic potential of the country and development of local business.
The Asian Development Bank financed infrastructure works by 21 956 496 GEL. Under the project, up to 100 locals were employed. The works are planned to be completed by the end of current year.
